Juan Ignacio Rey, Head of Vehicular Natural Gas Mobility at nortegas, will explain the advantages of using gas as a fuel in the vehicles and its availability to make it an immediate substitute for petrol and diesel.
Furthermore, during the three-day Sustainable Mobility Event, Getxo marina will host the information stands of the different participating companies and an exhibition of sustainable vehicles.
In that regard, nortegas will provide two natural gas cars for people to take for test drives in the area around Getxo marina to check out how competitive the cars are compared to vehicles using other fuels.
nortegas will also have a stand so that anyone who wants can collect information on the advantages of natural gas vehicles and watch audio-visual screenings on the subject.
Currently, the real alternative to the fossil fuels for transport is unquestionably using vehicular natural gas, which allows nitrogen oxide emissions to be cut by over 85% and suspended particulates by nearly 100%, which are the most harmful elements to people’s health. Emissions of CO2, the main greenhouse gas, are also 20% lower.
There is another quantifiable benefit that should be noted, which is the economic aspect, as gas is between 25 and 50% cheaper that petrol or diesel.
Finally, it should be stressed that gas is already used to fuel cars, public transport buses, vans and lorries, boats, industrial machinery and, in several countries, railways.
