NORTEGAS RESUMES OPERATIONS AT PRIVATE HOMES
- Since the start Phase 1, the distributor has resumed regular inspections and meter readings at the customers’ homes which had been halted during the state of alarm.
- All the activities will always be carried out by prior appointment and applying the maximum security and protective measures for employees and customers.
Nortegas, the second natural gas distributor in Spain, has resumed the work that requires access to private homes and which had been halted during the State of Alarm, on health protection grounds and following the instructions of the authorities.
The start of Phase 1 has allowed Nortegas to resume those activities. These will be in addition to the remote commercial actions, supply connections, reconnections and the work carried out by the emergency team that continued as normal during lockdown to fully guarantee the supply.
Nortegas has begun to reply to the commercial requests of potential customers to organise the visits by the installers, which will always be by prior appointment.
On the other hand, the regular inspections and meter readings, which had been limited to communal facilities (IRC), community boiler rooms and industrial and commercial establishments, have also restarted in private homes. In the same way as the commercial requests, these activities will be managed by means of a prior appointment and applying all the safety protocols to ensure maximum protection of Nortegas employees and its customers.
Nortegas prioritises guaranteeing the correct supply at its over one million points, along with ensuring the safety of its customers, employees and families. The majority of the workforce will therefore continue to work remotely as they have been doing so far, following the contingency plan activated in parallel at the start of the state of alarm.
Javier Contreras, the Nortegas Managing Director, stressed: “I am pleased that we can resume part of our regular activities, while always applying the maximum safety measures to protect ourselves and protect our customers. It fills us with optimism to progress towards a relative normality and we hope that it will soon be reflected be in the business and economic fabric”.
