• The distributor has reached an agreement with Kutxabank for end customers to finance natural gas installations through their partner companies.
• Thanks to this agreement, customers who request the financing will enjoy preferential conditions

Nortegas, the second natural gas distributor nationwide, has signed an agreement with Kutxabank for their partner installation companies to offer end customers a line of financing.

The local companies, SMEs and sole traders with which Nortegas works on a daily basis, will be able to offer their customers the possibility of paying in instalments withr preferential terms. This will lead to energy improvements to homes in many cases.

This initiative is part of Nortegas’s commitment to the social, economic and business fabric of the geographical areas where it operates. The distributor will also continue to foster the use of natural gas by offering facilities to access economically competitive and sustainable energy.

Kutxabank is a benchmark company in terms of incorporating environmental social and governance (ESG) criteria in the strategy and management of the Bank. The bank now exclusively uses green electricity, ensures a positive carbon footprint and minimises energy consumption and of the materials needed for its operations.

End customers can access this financing regardless of who they bank with and pay by direct debit through their usual bank. As part of this service, Kutxabank has set up an exclusive hotline with extensive operating hours for the partner companies to solve any queries or process transactions. The transaction can be carried out 100% online and quickly through the bank’s platform. However, Kutxabank also offers the option of completing the formalities in person.

Javier Contreras, the Nortegas Managing Director, stressed: “the signing of this agreement offers customers the possibility of financing the installations or work to make their home more comfortable, while also contributing to decarbonisation by means of replacing more polluting fuels. This is further proof of Nortegas’s commitment to the ecological transition, one of the cornerstones of the company’s future strategy. Eduardo Ruiz de Gordejuela, the Retail Business General Manager at Kutxabank, pointed out that the agreement “means that we can offer non-customers and customers of the bank alike an even more extensive catalogue of products to the ones we already have on the market, and whose goal is to generate a positive environmental impact. For some time now, Kutxabank has been encouraging the purchase of energy sustainable housing, reforms aimed at reducing energy consumption in homes, purchasing energy efficient household appliances and also financing vehicles powered by cleaner fuels. Therefore, the agreement with Nortegas is a further step forward in this environmentally friendly strategy”.
